Youth Conference “Awakens” our new Bomb-Shelter!

I’m so happy to announce that our bomb-shelter acquisition and renovation project is just about complete! All of the necessary installations and furnishings have been completed, and now we’re in the final phase of purchasing the remaining pieces of audio equipment and musical instruments. We’re finally able to safely continue with services, meetings and humanitarian projects during time of war!

It’s a momentous breakthrough for us and we praise God for the help that He has sent our way in the form of our amazing friends and partners like you. Please see the pictures below for a snapshot of the impact that your support has made.

This past week we had the privilege of hosting our youth conference “AWAKE” in our newly renovated bomb-shelter. Many young people attended, and they came from all over Southern Israel, as far away as Eilat (by the Egyptian border). The South of Israel has many small congregations, with only one of these congregations being in a main city, and it has few young people. So in these Southern areas of Israel there really aren’t many opportunities to conduct youth conferences, and we believe that God has called us to serve the youth in Southern Israel through conferences and impacting, relevant teaching.

It was an anointed time of worship and powerful teachings. God moved mightily among the young people and lives were powerfully impacted. The conference was full of energy and the passion of the young people was overwhelming. Through the teachings the youth received spiritual tools on how to continue walking out their faith and to remain strong in the Lord.
Some young people came to the conference confused, unsure about what to expect, and not convinced that they wanted to dedicate their lives to God. While attending the conference though, they were touched by the Holy Spirit and filled with an assurance and a desire to dedicate their lives wholeheartedly to the Lord!

This was the first time that we held a youth conference in our new bomb-shelter. This place used to be an underground and illegal casino, but now it has been restored and redeemed, and what was once a place of iniquity, now serves to glorify God and to impact lives through the Gospel.

I would just like to thank our friends and partners once again for their overwhelming and loving support of our bomb-shelter project. We really couldn’t have done it without them and we are humbled by their generosity and concern for the safety of our congregants and those whom we help through our humanitarian projects.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for young believers in schools to be encouraged and to stand strong in their faith. Sometimes there’s only 1 or 2 believers in an entire public school.
  • Please pray for Messianic soldiers in the Israeli Defense Forces, that they may be a light in the army.
  • Please pray for growth and development of youth work and ministry in Southern Israel.

Beit Hallel is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Ashdod, led by pastor Israel Pochtar, serving holocaust survivors and the poor and needy locally and throughout the nation of Israel, while building up the body of Messiah in the promised land of Israel.
