This week we are celebrating Hanukkah – Festival of Lights, and we are reminded of Yeshua celebrating Hanukkah (also known in the bible as Festival of Dedication) at the Temple in Jerusalem when he preached about Him being the great Shepherd.
Yeshua’s “Hanukkah Sermon”
John 10:22-27,
“Then came the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
It’s a beautiful season here in Israel, and we also want to take the opportunity to wish you a Happy Hanukkah!
We also have a lot to be thankful for as we look back at 2015 and our hearts overflow with gratitude for how God has been continuously moving and providing to ensure the vision He has given us is fulfilled.
This year has been packed with exciting, challenging and wonderful moments. We’ve seen the Lord do amazing things in our ministry and congregation, as well as in the body of believers in Israel and all over the world.
You’re a big part of what we do and it is such a privilege to know we can count on your prayers, love and support, and together we can have a powerful impact in the land of Israel, by flooding it with the message of our Messiah Yeshua.
Beit Hallel is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Ashdod, led by pastor Israel Pochtar, serving holocaust survivors and the poor and needy locally and throughout the nation of Israel, while building up the body of Messiah in the promised land of Israel.
