We’re entering the season of High Holy Days in Israel, and it’s an incredibly important, as well as prophetic season where we start off by celebrating Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish New Year, but also known as Feast of Trumpets.
It refers to the sound of Trumpets that announce the return of our Lord Yeshua. A feast that not only speaks about the people of Israel’s past but their future as well.
People of Israel take the Jewish Festivals very seriously, and we celebrate them with intention, thought and respect, honouring not only the tradition but the prophetic significance behind them.
It is also the opportunity to show kindness to the less fortunate, because Rosh Hashanah is about bringing families together around a big dinner table where they will unite over a feast, celebrating God’s goodness.
Our goal is to ensure we leave not one family, single mother and her children, or elderly Holocaust survivors without provision during these High Holy Days. Especially in these trying times when Israel has been going through an incredibly rough season on every possible front.
There are also those families who have just recently made Aliyah to Israel and these will be the first Jewish holidays and biblical feasts they will celebrate in the Land.
Those the Lord has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Isaiah 51:11
Our focus during these biblical holidays – Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) – is to reveal God’s message of salvation, love, and kindness behind what we celebrate, and why we are compelled to help them.
