33 Years of Covenant, Calling, and Faithfulness

Some stories are not built in a moment. They are built one step at a time — through obedience, sacrifice, perseverance, and love that chooses to endure.

This week, we are delighted to celebrate 33 years of marriage for Pastor Israel and Vicky — thirty-three years of walking hand in hand with God, serving His people, and laying down their lives for the sake of His Kingdom in Israel.

“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”

Psalm 127:1

Their journey began simply. In the 1990s, as a newly married couple with hearts full of faith and very little else, they stepped into ministry with courage and conviction. Israel was a young evangelist on the streets of Tel Aviv–Yafo, sharing the Gospel one conversation at a time. Vicky stood faithfully beside him, supporting the calling God had placed on their lives, even when the future was unclear. Those early years were marked by simplicity, sacrifice, and a deep trust that God had called them — and that He would be faithful.

Together, they raised three children in a land that has known constant turbulence — through Intifadas, wars, terrorist attacks, and seasons of uncertainty. Yet through every hardship, they remained steadfast, not only to one another, but to God’s calling. They did not step away when it was costly. They did not retreat when fear pressed in. They continued to serve, to build, to shepherd, and to believe.

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed… struck down, but not destroyed.”

2 Corinthians 4:8–9

More than 20 years ago, God called them to leave everything familiar and move to Ashdod — a city with no Hebrew-speaking Messianic congregation at the time. With no guarantees and no safety net, they obeyed. From that step of faith, God began to build something extraordinary. What started with small gatherings and quiet prayers has grown — year by year — into a living testimony of His faithfulness.

Beit Hallel has become more than a congregation. It has become a lighthouse in the land of Israel — a place of worship, healing, discipleship, reconciliation, and hope. Through persecution, opposition, and countless challenges, the ministry expanded. The vision took root. Lives were transformed. Walking this road together strengthened their marriage deeply, as they faced trials side by side and witnessed God’s glory together.

“Two are better than one… For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

Today, after 33 years of marriage, children, and grandchildren, Pastor Israel and Vicky remain devoted. The fire that once burned on the streets of Tel Aviv still burns — now with greater wisdom, deeper compassion, and a broader vision. Their calling now reaches beyond Israel to the nations, carrying Israel’s story and testimony to believers around the world.

“Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish… they shall still bear fruit in old age.”

Psalm 92:13–14

This anniversary is not only a celebration of years, but of obedience, endurance, and love that chose faithfulness again and again. We praise God for Pastor Israel and Vicky — for their example, their humility, and their unwavering devotion to the call of God. May their story continue to inspire many. May their legacy continue to bless Israel. And may the House they helped build continue shining the light of Yeshua for generations to come.

Mazal Tov on 33 years — and all glory to God who has been faithful every step of the way.

Meeting God in a Hospital Room — Leon’s Story of Grace

Not every salvation story begins inside a congregation. Many begin in quiet rooms, in unexpected places, and in moments when hearts are tender and open. This week, one such moment unfolded in a local hospital — a moment filled with grace, comfort, and the unmistakable presence of God. Leon, a man who has lived in […]

A Prophetic Homecoming — Standing With Jewish Families Returning to Israel

Every week at Beit Hallel we meet new Jewish families who have just arrived in the Land of Israel. Some come alone, others as couples, and many with young children. They arrive from Ukraine, Russia, South America, Europe, the former Soviet Union, and beyond — different places, different cultures, different languages, but one shared identity: they […]

Love Made Tangible — Blessing New Jewish Immigrant Families in Ashkelon

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35 In celebration of the Hanukkah and Christmas season, Beit Hallel had the privilege this past week of supporting new Jewish immigrant families in Ashkelon. For many of these families, this winter marks their first months in Israel — a time filled with hope, uncertainty, […]

The Unexpected Encounter That Gave Marina Hope

The Work He Left In Our Hands —
Galilee Evangelism Campaign

Here in Israel, many people can know the names of biblical places and the stories connected with them — and still know very little about who Yeshua really is. For many of the new Jewish immigrants we meet, Israel itself is also new. They are building a life in a new country, discovering the land, […]

“Please Don’t Wait Too Long” —
Holocaust Survivors Project Report

Some of the Holocaust survivors who walked into our gathering in Ashdod already knew us. Others did not. We could see the hesitation on a few faces, and we understood it. They had been invited into a room with people they barely knew — and we were wondering how they would respond when we spoke […]

Inside the Sukkah:
Remembering the God Who Provides

One of the things I love about Sukkot is how many simple reminders of God’s faithfulness surround us during this Feast. We build the sukkah, we sit beneath its branches, we share meals together as families, and we remember something our people have needed to remember for thousands of years: everything we have ultimately comes […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
Adonai Uzzi (יְהוָה עֻזִּי) —
The LORD Is My Strength

We all become tired sometimes, and I don’t mean only physically. There is another kind of tiredness that comes when you have been carrying something for a long time. You have prayed, you have tried to make the right decisions, you have kept going, but the situation has still not changed. After some time, you […]

“Don’t Forget Us. Come Again” —
Holocaust Survivors Praise Report

The Moroccan food was a hit. We had brought it from Ashdod for a gathering with Holocaust survivors in Jerusalem, and before long people around the tables were asking about our city. What is Ashdod like? Could they come visit sometime? We loved that. Somewhere between passing plates, talking across the table and getting to […]
