A Call to Prayer:
The Crisis in Syria and Our Response as Believers

Syria. A land rich in history and faith, now scarred by war and loss. For over a decade, it has been a place of unimaginable suffering—families torn apart, cities reduced to rubble, and hearts weighed down by grief. It’s easy to feel distant from it all, to see Syria as just another headline. But for us, as believers, it’s personal.

This is the land where Saul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, where the early church grew and flourished. It’s where followers of Jesus first called themselves believers (Acts 11:26). Today, the church in Syria is still there—small, battered, but standing strong. Our brothers and sisters are holding on to their faith in the face of persecution, loss, and uncertainty. And they need us.

Why Syria Matters to Us

Syria isn’t just a place on a map; it’s part of our spiritual heritage. Imagine walking the same streets where Paul preached or standing in the places where the first believers gathered. That’s Syria. But now, many of those streets are empty, and those gatherings are underground, hidden from those who would do harm.

The war has scattered families, destroyed homes, and left millions struggling to survive. But in the midst of it all, the light of Christ still shines. The Syrian church continues to be a beacon of hope, a reminder that God is present even in the darkest places.

Standing in the Gap Through Prayer

We may not be able to go to Syria, but we can go to our knees. Hebrews 13:3 calls us to “remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” When we pray for Syria, we step into their pain. We join them in their struggle and invite God to move.

Prayer isn’t just words. It’s an act of faith, a declaration that we believe God can bring peace, healing, and restoration. Here’s how we can pray:

  • For Peace: Ask God to end the violence and bring lasting peace. Pray for healing in the hearts of those who have lost so much.
  • For Protection: Pray for families living in dangerous conditions, for children who have known nothing but war, and for those providing aid and support.
  • For the Church: Lift up the believers in Syria. Pray for strength, courage, and boldness as they continue to be a light in the darkness.
  • For Leaders: Pray for wisdom and compassion for world leaders making decisions that affect Syria’s future.

Hope in the Midst of Darkness

Even now, in the midst of suffering, there are stories of hope. People are coming to faith, finding Jesus in the ruins of their lives. The church is rising, even when the world tries to crush it. God is at work, and He is faithful.

Let’s not underestimate the power of our prayers. Together, we can make a difference. Let’s lift up Syria and trust that God hears us.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34:18

May our prayers rise like incense, bringing comfort and hope to those who need it most.
Let’s believe for miracles in Syria.

Amen!

Bringing the Light of Christmas to Israel:
A Celebration of Faith and Hope in Jerusalem

Imagine living in a place where Christmas isn’t celebrated at all. No decorations, no lights, no carols—nothing to remind you of the joyous season we hold so dear. That’s the reality in Ashdod, Israel. While Hanukkah is celebrated with enthusiasm across the country, Christmas often goes unmarked, even though the very first Christmas happened right […]

A Call to Refresh Israel’s Ministry Leaders:
Pouring Into Those Who Pour Out

In the land of Israel, a land rich with promise yet often shadowed by conflict, pastors and ministry leaders carry an extraordinary burden. These faithful shepherds tirelessly serve congregations deeply affected by war, displacement, and uncertainty. Day by day, they pour themselves out—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—often leaving their own wells empty. As the familiar saying […]

Peter’s Testimony:
A Divine Appointment at Beit Hallel

Sometimes, God shows up in ways we least expect. Peter, a new immigrant from Ukraine, came to one of our recent humanitarian aid projects at Beit Hallel. After having spent time with other new immigrants at the project, as well as receiving the humanitarian aid that he so desperately needed, he was walking home when […]

Strengthening the Hands That Serve:
Encouraging Our Pastoral Family in Eilat

Pastors spend much of their lives encouraging others. They pray with families, guide people through difficult seasons, teach the Scriptures, and help believers grow in their faith. Yet those who faithfully shepherd others also need moments to step away from their daily responsibilities, share their hearts, and receive encouragement themselves. Recently, Pastor Israel traveled to […]

Until All Israel Hears —
The Good News Project

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Good News of Yeshua began spreading from Jerusalem to the nations. This November, believers from those nations will come to Israel to stand alongside our Beit Hallel team, sharing that same message in the streets of the very land where it all began. There is something deeply meaningful about […]

Where He Walked, They Prayed:
200 Israelis Encounter the Gospel at Magdala

There are places in Israel where the stories of the Bible suddenly feel very close. Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, is one of them. Recently, we brought 200 Israelis to this ancient town, where Yeshua (Jesus) ministered in the surrounding region nearly 2,000 years ago. We wanted them to discover more […]

The Stones Are Ancient:
The Gospel Still Changes Lives

Some places carry a history that time cannot erase. Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, ancient stones still bear witness to the world Yeshua walked through—the villages where He taught, the people He encountered, and the lives that were forever changed by meeting Him.  As we prepare to welcome 200 Israelis to the […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
B’yadcha (בְּיָדְךָ) —
Into Your Hand

Some things are simply beyond our control. We can pray, make wise decisions, do everything we know to do, and still reach a point where the outcome is no longer in our hands. This can be one of the hardest places for us, because we naturally want to know what is going to happen and […]
