Lilia’s Story of Hope, Healing, and New Life in Yeshua

A New Beginning in a New Land

“Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

2 Corinthians 5:17

Starting over isn’t easy. When Lilia arrived in Israel three years ago, she came alone—with no family nearby, no local friends, and no real idea of what life here would look like. Like so many new immigrants, she hoped for a fresh beginning, but what she found instead was a steep uphill climb. A new language, unfamiliar culture, and the pressure of daily survival made her feel lost and disconnected. But even deeper than that, she carried quiet questions in her heart—questions about God, about her purpose, and about what comes after this life.

That’s where our ministry came in. Every week, our follow-up team reaches out to people like Lilia—new immigrants, seekers, and those just trying to find their way. It’s not always flashy. Sometimes it’s as simple as a kind conversation or an invitation to a community event. That’s how Lilia found herself at one of our special evangelistic movie nights.

These movie nights are one of the ways we creatively share the Good News. We choose powerful, faith-based films with messages that speak to the heart—and we create a welcoming atmosphere where people feel safe to come just as they are. After the film, someone usually shares their own story—how Yeshua met them, healed them, and gave them a new life. That night, as Lilia sat and listened, something stirred inside her. For the first time, she began to wonder seriously: What if Yeshua is real? What if He’s calling me too?

That moment was a turning point.
She left with questions—but also with a spark of hope.

Not long after, she heard about a teaching and fellowship gathering we were hosting for people who wanted to learn more about following Yeshua, and what it means to take the next step through immersion in water—a biblical act that symbolizes dying to the old life and rising into new life with God. Lilia felt strongly that she needed to be there. She came with an open heart, hungry for truth, and ready to find real answers.

During the gathering, she listened carefully, asked questions, and experienced something she hadn’t felt in a long time: peace. When the invitation was given to commit her life to Yeshua, she responded with joy and tears. That very same day, she was immersed in water as a public declaration of her faith.

From that moment on, Lilia says everything changed.

She began reading the Bible regularly, not just as a book, but as God’s personal Word to her. She shared with us that shortly after her immersion, she had a dream where God told her to pray for the peace of Israel. That dream shook her—and since then, she has faithfully been praying for this land and its people, moved by a sense of purpose and love she never knew before.

Her journey didn’t stop there. Wanting to go deeper, Lilia recently joined one of our home groups for the first time. These small groups are a cornerstone of our discipleship work. They provide a safe space for new believers to ask questions, study the Bible, share life, and build meaningful community. For someone like Lilia, who once felt alone in a new country, this kind of spiritual family is life-changing.

Her story is one of many—but it’s also deeply personal. It shows what happens when ordinary believers—like our team, and like you who pray and support this work—step out in faith to reach someone with love, patience, and the truth of Yeshua.

Every outreach event, every home group, every friendly conversation or prayer meeting is part of a bigger picture: the Holy Spirit gently drawing people to Himself, one by one, heart by heart.

We’re so thankful to God for what He’s doing—and for you, who make it possible through your prayers, encouragement, and generosity.

Please keep Lilia in your prayers, and join us in believing for many more like her to experience a new beginning in Yeshua.

Strengthening the Hands That Serve:
Encouraging Our Pastoral Family in Eilat

Pastors spend much of their lives encouraging others. They pray with families, guide people through difficult seasons, teach the Scriptures, and help believers grow in their faith. Yet those who faithfully shepherd others also need moments to step away from their daily responsibilities, share their hearts, and receive encouragement themselves. Recently, Pastor Israel traveled to […]

Until All Israel Hears —
The Good News Project

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Good News of Yeshua began spreading from Jerusalem to the nations. This November, believers from those nations will come to Israel to stand alongside our Beit Hallel team, sharing that same message in the streets of the very land where it all began. There is something deeply meaningful about […]

One Family’s Journey of Aliyah, Resilience, and Belonging

“We have nowhere left to return to. We’ve already returned. Home.” These are Olga’s words, and they tell us something about the family we’ve come to know through our work at Beit Hallel. Where He Walked, They Prayed:
200 Israelis Encounter the Gospel at Magdala

There are places in Israel where the stories of the Bible suddenly feel very close. Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, is one of them. Recently, we brought 200 Israelis to this ancient town, where Yeshua (Jesus) ministered in the surrounding region nearly 2,000 years ago. We wanted them to discover more […]

The Stones Are Ancient:
The Gospel Still Changes Lives

Some places carry a history that time cannot erase. Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, ancient stones still bear witness to the world Yeshua walked through—the villages where He taught, the people He encountered, and the lives that were forever changed by meeting Him.  As we prepare to welcome 200 Israelis to the […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
B’yadcha (בְּיָדְךָ) —
Into Your Hand

Some things are simply beyond our control. We can pray, make wise decisions, do everything we know to do, and still reach a point where the outcome is no longer in our hands. This can be one of the hardest places for us, because we naturally want to know what is going to happen and […]
