This past week, Pastor Israel and Vicky had the privilege of attending the annual Servant’s Heart Award Gala in Indianapolis, hosted by Pastor Israel’s dear friend Jeff Cardwell, founder of the People Helping People Network. It was an evening marked not merely by recognition or celebration, but by something far more meaningful—the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit and a shared conviction that God is mobilizing His people in extraordinary ways during these challenging days.
The gathering brought together leaders and believers who carry a common vision: to serve, to uplift, and to respond faithfully to the needs of a broken world. In a time when headlines are often filled with division and darkness, this evening felt like a quiet but powerful reminder that God is still weaving together hearts across nations. New friendships were formed, partnerships strengthened, and testimonies shared of lives being touched through acts of compassion and obedience.
During the evening, Pastor Israel was honored with the Outstanding Leadership Award—a moment that he described not as a personal achievement, but as a humbling reminder of God’s faithfulness. Leadership in the Kingdom is never about position; it is about posture. Yeshua Himself said:
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant”
Mark 10:43
The heart of this award was not prestige, but service—the quiet, consistent work of shepherding, encouraging, and building bridges in difficult seasons.
For us at Beit Hallel, this moment was deeply significant. It reminded us of how gracious God has been to bring partners like Jeff and the People Helping People Network into our lives. Ministry was never meant to be carried alone. Scripture tells us:
“Two are better than one… for if either of them falls, one can help the other up”
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
In recent years, as Israel has walked through complex and painful seasons, these partnerships have not only strengthened our hands—they have strengthened our hearts.
What stood out most throughout the evening was the shared understanding that we are living in significant times. Across the globe, we see instability, moral confusion, and increasing spiritual darkness. And yet, in the midst of this, God is not retreating. He is connecting and mobilizing His children across continents—raising up voices, strengthening ministries, and igniting servant-hearted leadership that reflects His light.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you”
Isaiah 60:1
The darker the night, the more visible the light becomes.
This gala was more than an event; it was a reminder that the Body of Messiah is global. What God is doing in Israel is deeply connected to what He is stirring in America and beyond. The same Spirit that moves in Jerusalem moves in Indianapolis. The same calling to serve, to stand for truth, and to extend compassion unites believers across cultures and languages.
Pastor Israel shared that receiving the award was a deeply humbling experience—a moment to pause and reflect on how far God has brought us, and how much remains ahead. Every honor ultimately belongs to the Lord, for it is He who equips, sustains, and opens doors. As Scripture reminds us:
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain”
Psalms 127:1
We stand where we stand today only because of His grace.
We are profoundly grateful for friends like Jeff Cardwell and the People Helping People Network, for the prayers and partnership that strengthen this ministry, and for the reminder that in these days of great challenge, God is still building, still connecting, and still raising up servant hearts. May we continue to walk humbly, serve faithfully, and shine His light brighter than ever—trusting that even in times of great darkness, His purposes are unfolding across the earth.
