Sometimes the most meaningful moments in ministry don’t begin with a stage or a sermon—they begin with a simple conversation. A shared moment. A willingness to meet someone exactly where they are, without pressure or expectation—just presence, kindness, and truth. It is in these quiet spaces that hearts begin to open, trust begins to form, and something deeper starts to take root, often in ways we could never plan or predict.
Recently, we met a young man named Andrey. Like so many others, his journey to Israel was not easy. He fled Ukraine to avoid being drawn into the war, leaving behind a reality marked by fear, uncertainty, and loss. Many of his friends have suffered deeply—some have even lost their lives—and he carries that weight with him even now. Yet by God’s grace, he found himself here in Israel—safe, protected, and searching, even if he didn’t yet have the words to express what he was looking for.
Over time, Andrey began coming to several of our outreach projects.
At first, he simply listened. He observed, took it in, and stayed on the edges of the conversation. There was no pressure placed on him, no expectation to respond—just a consistent atmosphere of care, openness, and a message of hope shared again and again. And little by little, something began to shift within him. What started as curiosity slowly became openness, and that openness began to turn into something deeper.
One day, almost unexpectedly, he said something that stayed with us: “I believe God loves me… and that He has a plan for my life.” It wasn’t something we tried to convince him of—it was something he discovered. Through the conversations, through the relationships being built, through the quiet work of the Holy Spirit, his perspective began to change. He started to see his own story differently—not just as someone who escaped something difficult, but as someone who had been preserved for a purpose. Protected. Seen. Pursued by God in ways he had not recognized before.
Scripture tells us, “The kindness of God leads you to repentance” (Romans 2:4), and we see this truth come alive again and again. It is not force or argument that transforms a heart—it is kindness, patience, and love that create the space for God to move. And in that space, Andrey made the decision to pray a prayer of repentance. It was a simple and sincere step, but one that carries eternal significance. Today, he is open, hungry to know more, and beginning a journey of discovering who God truly is.
Moments like these remind us that ministry is not built in a single instant—it is built connection by connection, conversation by conversation. It is in showing up consistently, in listening, in caring, in creating environments where people feel safe enough to ask questions and honest enough to respond. As Scripture says, “One plants, another waters, but God gives the increase” (1 Corinthians 3:6). We are simply faithful in our part—sowing, watering, trusting—and watching as God brings life in His perfect time.
This is the heart of what we do.
Whether through outreach projects, gatherings, or everyday encounters, we are building bridges—reaching people where they are, walking with them patiently, and trusting that every small moment matters, because it does. Every conversation carries the potential for transformation. Every act of kindness can become a doorway through which someone encounters God in a real and personal way. As Yeshua said, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37), and we are reminded daily of both the need and the privilege of being part of this work.
Andrey’s story is still unfolding, but it began the same way so many others do—with someone willing to meet him where he was. With kindness. With truth. With the quiet faith that God is already at work long before we ever see the result. And little by little, connection by connection, we are seeing lives changed.
