When Anna arrived in Israel from Ukraine three years ago as a new immigrant, she carried hope for a fresh beginning. Like so many repatriates, she came seeking safety, stability, and a new start in the Land of Israel. But instead of an easy transition, she was met with hardship almost immediately.
Shortly after arriving, Anna fell victim to phone scammers. They took a large sum of money from her—money she could not afford to lose. When she turned to the police, she was told that nothing could be done. Left alone to repay the debt, overwhelmed and frightened, Anna sank into deep despair.
When she came to Beit Hallel asking for help, she was not only burdened financially—she was emotionally broken. During conversations with our follow-up team, she shared openly that she was suffering from depression and had lost her desire to live. Her situation felt hopeless.
But this is exactly where the heart of Beit Hallel’s follow-up ministry steps in.
Our team listened. They cared. And most importantly, they prayed with her. They gently reminded her that even when all human solutions seem exhausted, there is still hope in God. That day, Anna opened her heart, accepted Jesus, and received a Bible. It was the beginning of a new journey.
From that moment on, the follow-up did not stop. Our team stayed in regular contact with her—through phone calls, personal meetings, encouragement, prayer, and practical support. Step by step, relationship by relationship, Anna was not left alone.
Soon, she began attending congregation meetings. There, something even deeper happened. She encountered God’s presence in a powerful way. The messages were clear and easy to understand for her. The worship touched her heart. The community embraced her.
Today, Anna testifies that she has found true happiness. She says she has changed both inwardly and outwardly. Where there was once despair, there is now peace. Where there was darkness, there is now hope. She is deeply grateful for her encounter with Jesus and for the people who walked with her patiently along the way.
Anna’s story reflects the heart of Beit Hallel’s follow-up team.
