When our follow-up team first met Oleg, we could see the weight he was carrying. He had just arrived in Israel, stepping into the unknown with only a couple of suitcases and a heart full of uncertainty. Everything was new—the language, the culture, the future—and fear was written on his face. Oleg’s first steps in the Land of Israel were heavy with questions: “How will I survive? Where do I begin?
As we listened to him share his story, our hearts were moved with compassion.
This is exactly why God has called us to this ministry—not just to hand out food or provide practical help, but to be there for people when they feel lost, vulnerable, and alone. Oleg didn’t just need answers; he needed to feel God’s presence and to know that his new beginning had a purpose.
We prayed together, asking the Lord to cover him with safety, to give him wisdom for every decision, and to guide his steps in this new season. And then, something remarkable happened. The fear in Oleg’s eyes began to fade, slowly replaced by peace, relief, and even gratitude. By the end of our time together, there was a visible change—his eyes shone with a spark of hope. Tears flowed freely, not because all his problems had vanished, but because he realized: he was not alone. God was near.
For us as a follow-up team, this was a holy reminder. What started as a simple meeting turned into an encounter with God’s love. We were reminded that our calling is more than distributing aid—it is shining the light of Yeshua into lives that are desperate for comfort, hope, and direction.
Scripture tells us:
“Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
This is what we experienced with Oleg. A prayer, a listening ear, a simple act of kindness—these can break through the heaviest darkness and plant seeds of hope in a heart searching for God.
Standing With New Immigrants in Israel
This is what follow-up means to us at Beit Hallel: walking alongside those who arrive in Israel with trembling hearts and uncertain futures. They often come with nothing more than a suitcase, but God is writing a new story for them in this land. We count it a privilege to stand with them, to pray with them, and to remind them that He has a plan for their lives.
Your support is what makes moments like Oleg’s possible.
Because of you, we can be there when fear overwhelms, and we can watch as God turns it into hope. Together, we are shining His light, one story at a time.
Thank you for standing with us, believing with us, and helping us carry God’s love to those who need it most.
