Hebrew Word of the Week —
Yesod (יְסוֹד) —
The Foundation That Holds You Steady

In a world that shifts so quickly, many of us long for something solid — something trustworthy beneath our feet. When circumstances change, when plans fall apart, or when uncertainty rises, we feel how much we need a foundation that cannot be shaken.

That’s the heart of the Hebrew word Yesod (יְסוֹד, yeh-SÓD) — it means foundation, base, something firmly established. In Scripture, yesod is used to describe what supports, stabilizes, and holds everything together.

📖 Biblical Foundation

Isaiah tells us:

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation (yesod)…”

Isaiah 28:16

Yesod is not just about what you build — it’s about what you build upon. And this becomes even more powerful when we look to Yeshua.

Throughout His teaching, Yeshua pointed His disciples toward the importance of foundation. He spoke about the wise man who built his house on the rock — a house that stood firm when the rains fell and the winds blew. He wasn’t giving a construction lesson. He was revealing something deeper: The strength of your life is determined by the foundation beneath it.

✨ Why It Matters

Yeshua becomes our Yesod — the secure, unchanging base on which we build our faith, our decisions, our relationships, and our future. Life’s storms don’t disappear. But when the foundation is right, the house stands. Maybe this week you’re facing something that shakes you — a challenge, a worry, a decision, or a situation that feels unstable.

Let Yesod remind you: Your stability doesn’t come from circumstances. It comes from the One beneath your feet. When your foundation is Yeshua, you don’t stand in your own strength — you stand in His. Build your days upon Him, and no storm can undo the work He’s doing in your life.

🙏 A Prayer

Lord Yeshua, thank You for being my Yesod — my sure foundation. Strengthen every part of my life that feels unstable and help me build each day on Your truth and Your presence. Keep me steady, grounded, and secure in You.

Amen.

Strengthening the Hands That Serve:
Encouraging Our Pastoral Family in Eilat

Pastors spend much of their lives encouraging others. They pray with families, guide people through difficult seasons, teach the Scriptures, and help believers grow in their faith. Yet those who faithfully shepherd others also need moments to step away from their daily responsibilities, share their hearts, and receive encouragement themselves. Recently, Pastor Israel traveled to […]

Until All Israel Hears —
The Good News Project

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Good News of Yeshua began spreading from Jerusalem to the nations. This November, believers from those nations will come to Israel to stand alongside our Beit Hallel team, sharing that same message in the streets of the very land where it all began. There is something deeply meaningful about […]

Where He Walked, They Prayed:
200 Israelis Encounter the Gospel at Magdala

There are places in Israel where the stories of the Bible suddenly feel very close. Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, is one of them. Recently, we brought 200 Israelis to this ancient town, where Yeshua (Jesus) ministered in the surrounding region nearly 2,000 years ago. We wanted them to discover more […]

The Stones Are Ancient:
The Gospel Still Changes Lives

Some places carry a history that time cannot erase. Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, ancient stones still bear witness to the world Yeshua walked through—the villages where He taught, the people He encountered, and the lives that were forever changed by meeting Him.  As we prepare to welcome 200 Israelis to the […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
B’yadcha (בְּיָדְךָ) —
Into Your Hand

Some things are simply beyond our control. We can pray, make wise decisions, do everything we know to do, and still reach a point where the outcome is no longer in our hands. This can be one of the hardest places for us, because we naturally want to know what is going to happen and […]
