Hebrew Word of the Week:
Netivot Olam (נְתִיבוֹת עוֹלָם) —
The Ancient Paths That Still Lead to Life

Every day, we’re surrounded by new ideas about how to find purpose, happiness, and fulfillment. Culture tells us to keep reinventing ourselves, chase the latest trends, and define truth on our own terms. But while the world is constantly changing, God’s ways never do.

One beautiful Hebrew expression found in the Bible is Netivot Olam (נְתִיבוֹת עוֹלָם, pronounced: neh-tee-VOHT oh-LAHM), meaning “ancient paths.” These paths are not ancient because they belong to the past. They are ancient because they come from the eternal God, whose wisdom never changes. His truth has guided His people from generation to generation, and it still leads us today.

Through the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord gave this invitation:

“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Jeremiah 6:16

God wasn’t inviting His people to live in the past. He was calling them back to Himself. The ancient paths are the ways of trusting Him, obeying His Word, walking in humility, loving others, and remaining faithful when the world chooses another direction.

When Yeshua came, He didn’t replace those ancient paths—He fulfilled them. He declared, “I am the way…” (John 14:6), revealing that the path God had been preparing throughout Scripture ultimately leads to Him. Walking the Netivot Olam means following the Messiah each day, allowing His life and His teachings to shape our own.

Perhaps today you find yourself standing at a crossroads. You may be facing uncertainty, disappointment, or a decision that seems overwhelming. The temptation is often to search for a new formula or a different direction. Yet God’s invitation remains the same: Ask for the ancient paths. Walk in them.

The Netivot Olam guided Abraham when he stepped into the unknown. They sustained David through both victory and failure. They gave Esther courage when her people needed her most, and they led the disciples as they carried the good news of Yeshua to the world. Those same ancient paths remain just as sure today.

The next time life feels uncertain, remember the words Netivot Olam. God’s path is not always the newest path, but it is always the right one. As you walk with Yeshua, you are walking a road marked by God’s faithfulness from generation to generation—a path that still leads to life, peace, and hope.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that Your ways never change. In a world filled with uncertainty, help me to seek Your Netivot Olam and to walk faithfully with Yeshua every day. Give me the wisdom to trust Your Word above every passing trend and the courage to follow wherever You lead. May my life reflect Your truth and Your faithfulness. In Yeshua’s name, Amen.

This Week’s Declaration

Today I choose to walk the Netivot Olam—the ancient paths of God. His truth is my guide, His Word is my foundation, and through Yeshua I will walk faithfully in His ways.

Strengthening the Hands That Serve:
Encouraging Our Pastoral Family in Eilat

Pastors spend much of their lives encouraging others. They pray with families, guide people through difficult seasons, teach the Scriptures, and help believers grow in their faith. Yet those who faithfully shepherd others also need moments to step away from their daily responsibilities, share their hearts, and receive encouragement themselves. Recently, Pastor Israel traveled to […]

Until All Israel Hears —
The Good News Project

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Good News of Yeshua began spreading from Jerusalem to the nations. This November, believers from those nations will come to Israel to stand alongside our Beit Hallel team, sharing that same message in the streets of the very land where it all began. There is something deeply meaningful about […]

200 Israelis Encounter the Gospel at Magdala

There are places in Israel where the stories of the Bible suddenly feel very close. Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, is one of them. Recently, we brought 200 Israelis to this ancient town, where Yeshua (Jesus) ministered in the surrounding region nearly 2,000 years ago. We wanted them to discover more […]

The Stones Are Ancient:
The Gospel Still Changes Lives

Some places carry a history that time cannot erase. Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, ancient stones still bear witness to the world Yeshua walked through—the villages where He taught, the people He encountered, and the lives that were forever changed by meeting Him.  As we prepare to welcome 200 Israelis to the […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
B’yadcha (בְּיָדְךָ) —
Into Your Hand

Some things are simply beyond our control. We can pray, make wise decisions, do everything we know to do, and still reach a point where the outcome is no longer in our hands. This can be one of the hardest places for us, because we naturally want to know what is going to happen and […]
