Love Made Tangible — Blessing New Jewish Immigrant Families in Ashkelon

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Acts 20:35

In celebration of the Hanukkah and Christmas season, Beit Hallel had the privilege this past week of supporting new Jewish immigrant families in Ashkelon. For many of these families, this winter marks their first months in Israel — a time filled with hope, uncertainty, and the difficult work of beginning again.

Some families have left behind homes, careers, and entire support networks. Others are still navigating housing, employment, and language challenges. During the winter season, these pressures can feel even heavier. This made the timing of the outreach especially meaningful.

Thanks to the help of our partners and volunteers, we were able to assist around 100 new Jewish immigrant families. Each family received:

  • A Hanukkah gift pack for each child
  • Winter blankets for each family
  • A food basket with essential food items for each family

The response spoke volumes. Parents expressed relief and gratitude, sharing how the blankets and food baskets brought real peace of mind. Children proudly held their Hanukkah gift packs, smiling and comparing what was inside. The atmosphere was lively, warm, and full of connection — the room felt lighter simply because people could relax, laugh, and be encouraged.

One mother shared that she had been worried about how she would manage the extra costs this month. Another parent said it was the first time since arriving in Israel that she felt truly supported. Many expressed how much it meant to receive help at the right moment, and above all, to feel seen.

These were not just distributions — they were personal encounters. Volunteers took time to listen, families shared their stories, and new relationships formed. The experience reminded us how powerful it is when care becomes visible, practical, and shared.

This outreach happened because of you. Your generosity turned intention into action and concern into comfort. You helped replace anxiety with reassurance and loneliness with a sense of belonging. Families walked away with essential items — but also with encouragement, dignity, and hope.

Looking back, it is clear that the impact reached far beyond the items distributed. Your support helped new Jewish immigrant families enter their first winter in Israel feeling welcomed, valued, and strengthened.

From our team — and from every family who felt the difference —

thank you.

Meeting God in a Hospital Room — Leon’s Story of Grace

Not every salvation story begins inside a congregation. Many begin in quiet rooms, in unexpected places, and in moments when hearts are tender and open. This week, one such moment unfolded in a local hospital — a moment filled with grace, comfort, and the unmistakable presence of God. Leon, a man who has lived in […]

A Prophetic Homecoming — Standing With Jewish Families Returning to Israel

Every week at Beit Hallel we meet new Jewish families who have just arrived in the Land of Israel. Some come alone, others as couples, and many with young children. They arrive from Ukraine, Russia, South America, Europe, the former Soviet Union, and beyond — different places, different cultures, different languages, but one shared identity: they […]

33 Years of Covenant, Calling, and Faithfulness

Some stories are not built in a moment. They are built one step at a time — through obedience, sacrifice, perseverance, and love that chooses to endure. This week, we are delighted to celebrate 33 years of marriage for Pastor Israel and Vicky — thirty-three years of walking hand in hand with God, serving His […]

Strengthening the Hands That Serve:
Encouraging Our Pastoral Family in Eilat

Pastors spend much of their lives encouraging others. They pray with families, guide people through difficult seasons, teach the Scriptures, and help believers grow in their faith. Yet those who faithfully shepherd others also need moments to step away from their daily responsibilities, share their hearts, and receive encouragement themselves. Recently, Pastor Israel traveled to […]

Until All Israel Hears —
The Good News Project

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Good News of Yeshua began spreading from Jerusalem to the nations. This November, believers from those nations will come to Israel to stand alongside our Beit Hallel team, sharing that same message in the streets of the very land where it all began. There is something deeply meaningful about […]

One Family’s Journey of Aliyah, Resilience, and Belonging

“We have nowhere left to return to. We’ve already returned. Home.” These are Olga’s words, and they tell us something about the family we’ve come to know through our work at Beit Hallel. Where He Walked, They Prayed:
200 Israelis Encounter the Gospel at Magdala

There are places in Israel where the stories of the Bible suddenly feel very close. Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, is one of them. Recently, we brought 200 Israelis to this ancient town, where Yeshua (Jesus) ministered in the surrounding region nearly 2,000 years ago. We wanted them to discover more […]

The Stones Are Ancient:
The Gospel Still Changes Lives

Some places carry a history that time cannot erase. Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, ancient stones still bear witness to the world Yeshua walked through—the villages where He taught, the people He encountered, and the lives that were forever changed by meeting Him.  As we prepare to welcome 200 Israelis to the […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
B’yadcha (בְּיָדְךָ) —
Into Your Hand

Some things are simply beyond our control. We can pray, make wise decisions, do everything we know to do, and still reach a point where the outcome is no longer in our hands. This can be one of the hardest places for us, because we naturally want to know what is going to happen and […]
