More Than Survival:
When One Family’s Journey to Safety Became a Journey to Yeshua

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 34:18

Sometimes the deepest wounds are the ones no one can see.

When our Beit Hallel follow-up team connected with Alina, she and her husband had already escaped the war in Ukraine and begun rebuilding their lives here in Israel. Her husband had survived a devastating drone attack—a miracle in itself—but the trauma of everything they had endured was still very much with them. His health remained fragile, and the emotional weight had become almost too much for Alina to carry.

Our follow-up team took the time to sit with her and listen. As Alina began sharing everything she had been carrying, one simple sentence captured the depth of her pain:

“I’ve been crying so much.”

It was in that conversation that our team sensed an opportunity to gently point her toward the Lord.

They asked Alina a simple question: What if God didn’t spare your husband’s life by accident? What if the One who protected him through that terrible day was now inviting both of you to discover Him in a deeper way?

Our team shared with her the hope found in Yeshua—the One who not only rescues us from danger, but offers forgiveness, new life, and a peace that reaches places no circumstance ever can. They reminded her that even after the darkest moments, God is still able to write a story of redemption.

As they prayed together, something beautiful happened.

Alina quietly opened her heart to the Lord. The tears that had spoken of fear became tears of hope. When the prayer was over, the expression on her face had changed. With quiet joy, she told our team she knew her life would never be the same.

Before Alina left, our follow-up team placed a Bible in her hands, invited her to join us at Beit Hallel, and promised to stay in touch. For our team, the prayer was not the end of the story. It was the beginning of walking alongside Alina as she takes her first steps of faith in Yeshua.

This is why follow-up is such an important part of our ministry.

People don’t only return to Israel carrying luggage. Many arrive carrying grief, unanswered questions, fear, and invisible scars. Our follow-up team spends countless hours calling people, meeting them personally, listening to their stories, praying with them, and building relationships. Again and again, a simple conversation becomes an opportunity for someone to encounter the compassion and hope of Yeshua.

Alina’s story is one of those moments.

Your prayers and faithful partnership help make these conversations possible. Because of friends like you, our team can continue reaching people personally and intentionally—not only meeting practical needs, but taking the time to listen, pray, share the Gospel, and continue walking with those who are searching.

Someone who arrived in Israel believing she had simply survived the past is now discovering the new life found in Yeshua.

Thank you for standing with us as our follow-up team continues reaching new immigrants and families across Israel. Every call, every personal meeting, every Bible given, and every prayer offered can become the beginning of a transformed life.

In God’s hands, every story can become more than survival.

“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.” Ephesians 2:14 Every day, we are reminded of the things that divide people. Strengthening the Hands That Serve:
Encouraging Our Pastoral Family in Eilat

Pastors spend much of their lives encouraging others. They pray with families, guide people through difficult seasons, teach the Scriptures, and help believers grow in their faith. Yet those who faithfully shepherd others also need moments to step away from their daily responsibilities, share their hearts, and receive encouragement themselves. Recently, Pastor Israel traveled to […]

Until All Israel Hears —
The Good News Project

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Good News of Yeshua began spreading from Jerusalem to the nations. This November, believers from those nations will come to Israel to stand alongside our Beit Hallel team, sharing that same message in the streets of the very land where it all began. There is something deeply meaningful about […]

Where He Walked, They Prayed:
200 Israelis Encounter the Gospel at Magdala

There are places in Israel where the stories of the Bible suddenly feel very close. Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, is one of them. Recently, we brought 200 Israelis to this ancient town, where Yeshua (Jesus) ministered in the surrounding region nearly 2,000 years ago. We wanted them to discover more […]

The Stones Are Ancient:
The Gospel Still Changes Lives

Some places carry a history that time cannot erase. Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, ancient stones still bear witness to the world Yeshua walked through—the villages where He taught, the people He encountered, and the lives that were forever changed by meeting Him.  As we prepare to welcome 200 Israelis to the […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
B’yadcha (בְּיָדְךָ) —
Into Your Hand

Some things are simply beyond our control. We can pray, make wise decisions, do everything we know to do, and still reach a point where the outcome is no longer in our hands. This can be one of the hardest places for us, because we naturally want to know what is going to happen and […]
