Purim Evangelism –
Proclaiming Light in Jerusalem When It’s Needed Most

These days, many of us can feel it—we are living in heavy and uncertain times. Not only here in Israel, but across the world, fear and confusion seem louder than ever. Truth is often blurred, hope feels fragile, and many people are quietly drifting without clear direction. Scripture tells us that darkness will increase, but it also reminds us of something steady and unshakable: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). When the days grow darker, the calling to shine light becomes even clearer.

This is why Purim evangelism in Jerusalem carries such weight right now. At the end of February, we will be hosting a Purim evangelism event for 150 people from Jerusalem—men and women who will be invited to hear the Gospel in an impactful, powerful, and meaningful way. In a city filled with history, tension, faith, and questions, creating intentional space to speak about the hope and truth found in Yeshua is more important than ever.

Jerusalem is not just another city. It is a place layered with promise, prayer, and longing. It is a city where God’s story has unfolded through generations, where Scripture is not distant but woven into the streets themselves. “For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem” (Isaiah 2:3). To share the Gospel here is to step into something sacred—to speak gently and clearly into a place where many are searching, even if they don’t always know how to name it.

This Purim evangelism day is designed to lower walls and open hearts. Each participant will be invited into a full day that includes transportation, a welcoming venue, a shared meal, and a guided walk through key biblical sites in Jerusalem. As people walk the city and hear Scripture connected to real places and real history, the message of the Gospel becomes less abstract and more tangible—something rooted in the land beneath their feet and the story of this people.

The cost to sponsor one participant is $100, which covers every part of the day. This allows each person to attend freely, without financial pressure or barriers. When you give, you are making it possible for someone in Jerusalem to hear the Gospel in a setting marked by dignity, care, and intentionality. As Scripture reminds us, “How can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:14). Your partnership creates that opportunity.

Purim itself reminds us that there are moments when silence is not an option. Esther chose to speak when the future of her people was at stake, even when it was costly. In the same spirit, we believe this is a time to speak truth with humility and courage. In Israel today, many people carry spiritual fatigue beneath the surface. Now is the time for the Gospel to be shared wisely, compassionately, and with love. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

We invite you to stand with us in this Purim evangelism outreach in Jerusalem. By sponsoring one person for $100, you are opening the door for someone in this city to encounter the message of hope—at a moment when it is deeply needed. Your generosity removes barriers, creates space, and helps proclaim light in the place where God chose to place His name.

A gift of $100 opens the door for one heart in Jerusalem to hear hope.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure’” (Psalm 122:6). Thank you for standing with us, for believing in the power of the Gospel, and for walking with us as we seek to proclaim light—faithfully and humbly—in the city of promise.

This week, we as a family at Beit Hallel pause with gratitude to celebrate Pastor Israel Pochtar on his 53rd birthday. Over the years, Pastor Israel’s life has been marked by faithfulness, steady obedience, and a deep love for God and […]

Turning Purim Joy Into Hope for Israel’s Children

As the Jewish feast of Purim draws near, we’re reminded that it’s not only a celebration of survival as described in the book of Esther—it is an invitation to care for one another. The biblical story does not end with deliverance alone. It naturally moves toward generosity. After God turned mourning into joy, His people […]

Purim Musical Outreach –
When the Curtain Rises, Hope Speaks

With the Jewish celebration of Purim just around the corner, we’re preparing once again for something deeply meaningful in the life of our community here in Israel—the Purim Musical. Created and performed by our youth ministry, this production has become a powerful expression of evangelism through the arts. In a land that has known uncertainty, […]

Beit Hallel Women’s Gathering –
A Place Where Women Are Seen, Held, and Restored

This week, we were reminded once again why investing in women’s ministry is not optional—it is essential. More than 70 women gathered for our women’s meeting, and for many, it was the very first time they had ever stepped into a space like this. The room was filled not only with voices and movement, but […]

The Unexpected Encounter That Gave Marina Hope

Marina* came to our Sukkot celebration carrying a fear she could do nothing about. Her son was in prison in Ukraine, badly wounded, and she did not know what would happen to him. She had no idea that among the people she would meet that day was someone whose own story would touch hers in […]

The Work He Left In Our Hands —
Galilee Evangelism Campaign

Here in Israel, many people can know the names of biblical places and the stories connected with them — and still know very little about who Yeshua really is. For many of the new Jewish immigrants we meet, Israel itself is also new. They are building a life in a new country, discovering the land, […]

“Please Don’t Wait Too Long” —
Holocaust Survivors Project Report

Some of the Holocaust survivors who walked into our gathering in Ashdod already knew us. Others did not. We could see the hesitation on a few faces, and we understood it. They had been invited into a room with people they barely knew — and we were wondering how they would respond when we spoke […]

Inside the Sukkah:
Remembering the God Who Provides

One of the things I love about Sukkot is how many simple reminders of God’s faithfulness surround us during this Feast. We build the sukkah, we sit beneath its branches, we share meals together as families, and we remember something our people have needed to remember for thousands of years: everything we have ultimately comes […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
Adonai Uzzi (יְהוָה עֻזִּי) —
The LORD Is My Strength

We all become tired sometimes, and I don’t mean only physically. There is another kind of tiredness that comes when you have been carrying something for a long time. You have prayed, you have tried to make the right decisions, you have kept going, but the situation has still not changed. After some time, you […]

“Don’t Forget Us. Come Again” —
Holocaust Survivors Praise Report

The Moroccan food was a hit. We had brought it from Ashdod for a gathering with Holocaust survivors in Jerusalem, and before long people around the tables were asking about our city. What is Ashdod like? Could they come visit sometime? We loved that. Somewhere between passing plates, talking across the table and getting to […]
