The road of ministry is a long and demanding one. A few years ago, I was blessed to sit with older, seasoned pastors—faithful men who have dedicated their lives to serving God’s people. They shared something that deeply impacted me: the vital importance of rest, replenishment, and restoration in the Lord. It was a truth I hadn’t fully grasped, but one that has since transformed my perspective on ministry.
For pastors and ministers, the call to serve is a beautiful but weighty responsibility.
It’s not just a job; it’s a life poured out in obedience to God’s call. But even the most dedicated shepherds can grow weary, especially if they neglect to care for their own souls. Without intentional times of rest in God’s presence, it’s easy to feel depleted, to lose sight of the joy and passion that first ignited their calling.
This is why we felt so strongly led to organize a special pastoral retreat in Cyprus—a time for local Israeli pastors to step away from the relentless demands of ministry and simply sit at the feet of Jesus. It is an opportunity for them to lay down their burdens, recharge their spirits, and hear the gentle whisper of the Lord speaking life and encouragement over them.
The retreat is happening now and will continue for the rest of this week. It is already proving to be a lifeline for these faithful leaders—a sacred moment to pause, breathe deeply, and let God refresh their weary hearts. These pastors, many of whom are ministering in the midst of war, are finding renewed strength and hope. Their congregations include displaced families and soldiers who have left everything behind to defend their land. These shepherds are not just preaching sermons; they are walking shoulder-to-shoulder with their people through unimaginable trials, offering hope and pointing them to God’s faithfulness.
The cost to sponsor one pastor for this retreat is $150.
This covers their travel, accommodations, and other expenses, ensuring they have everything they need to rest and be restored in God’s presence. Would you prayerfully consider supporting a pastor? Your gift is more than financial—it’s a tangible expression of God’s love, reminding these pastors that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.
We also ask for your prayers.
Please join us in lifting these shepherds before the Lord. Pray that He would strengthen them, fill them with peace, and equip them for the challenges ahead.
Proverbs 11:25 tells us, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” It’s a promise we’ve seen fulfilled time and time again. As you give to refresh others, may the Lord pour His blessings back into your life in abundance.
Thank you for standing with us and with the shepherds of Israel. Together, we are making a difference that will echo into eternity.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Pastor Israel
