Most people see pastors standing behind pulpits, leading congregations, teaching the Word, praying for the sick, comforting the hurting, and carrying the spiritual burdens of others. What is often unseen are the challenges they themselves face along the way.
Ministry can be deeply rewarding, but it can also be demanding. Leaders pour themselves out week after week, often carrying responsibilities that few others fully understand. This is why gatherings like the Maagan Pastoral Conference are so important.
The Hebrew word Maagan means “harbor”—a place of refuge, rest, and renewal. In the coming days, pastors, ministry leaders, and their families from across Israel will step away from their daily responsibilities and gather together to be refreshed, encouraged, and strengthened in the presence of the Lord.
For many ministry families, opportunities like this are rare.
Pastors and their spouses spend much of their lives caring for others, often putting the needs of their congregations before their own. Maagan provides a valuable opportunity not only for leaders, but also for their families, to rest, reconnect, and be renewed together. It is a chance to step away from the pressures of everyday ministry and simply enjoy fellowship, encouragement, and time in God’s presence.
There is something special about creating space for leaders who are usually busy serving others to simply receive. Friendships will be renewed. New connections will be formed. Stories will be shared. Prayers will be offered. Hearts will be encouraged. Through worship, fellowship, and meaningful conversations, many will be reminded that they are not walking this journey alone.
Israel is a unique ministry field.
Over the years, congregational leaders have navigated seasons of tremendous blessing as well as seasons of significant challenge. They have ministered through wars, periods of uncertainty, times of social tension, and moments when entire communities were searching for hope and stability. Yet through every season, God has remained faithful.
One of the most beautiful aspects of Maagan is the opportunity to witness the unity of the Body of Messiah in the Land. Jewish and Arab pastors, ministry leaders, and their families will come together not as separate communities, but as brothers and sisters united in Yeshua. In a region often marked by division and conflict, their fellowship serves as a powerful testimony of the reconciliation that is possible through the Messiah.
That unity does not erase differences in background, language, or culture, rather, it demonstrates something greater—that our shared identity in Yeshua is stronger than anything that might otherwise divide us. As leaders gather to pray, worship, learn, and encourage one another, they will model the very message of hope and reconciliation that they carry to their communities throughout the year.
As this year’s Maagan Conference approaches, we invite you to partner with us in blessing the pastors, ministry leaders, and families who faithfully serve throughout Israel. Your support helps make it possible for these families to step away from the demands of daily ministry, receive encouragement, build meaningful relationships, and be refreshed in the presence of the Lord.
Many of these leaders spend their lives investing in others—comforting the hurting, strengthening congregations, serving their communities, and faithfully carrying the Gospel through both seasons of blessing and seasons of challenge. Through your generosity, you can help provide a much-needed opportunity for them and their families to be renewed and strengthened for the work God has called them to do.
If you would like to help sponsor a pastor or ministry family to attend the Maagan Conference, we invite you to prayerfully consider making a gift today. Together, we can encourage those who faithfully encourage others and help ensure that ministry leaders across Israel return to their communities refreshed, strengthened, and ready for the season ahead.
Thank you for standing with us as we continue supporting pastors, leaders, and their families throughout the Land.
