It often begins with something small—a bag of groceries, a warm coat, or even just someone willing to listen. But here in Israel, we’ve seen how those simple moments can grow into something life-changing.
Over and over again, we witness the same beautiful pattern: the very people who once came to us in need become the ones who now reach out to help others. It’s the ripple effect of love—touching hearts, inspiring generosity, and weaving lives together in ways that will last for eternity.
This past Shabbat, we saw that ripple in full motion, and it reminded us why this work is so precious.
From Recipients to Givers
We organized a special day for a group of our faithful volunteers—most of them new immigrants who originally came to Israel with little more than hope. Many arrived from countries like Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia, where faith in God was often discouraged or outright forbidden.
Among them was Olga, who came to us last year in desperate need of housing. “I didn’t know where to turn,” she recalled. “I had no family here, no connections, and I was running out of options.” We prayed together, asking God for a breakthrough. Just weeks later, she received an apartment far better than she had ever imagined. Tears welled up in her eyes as she said, “Every day I thank God for what He did through you.”
Viktor, another volunteer, shared his own story. When he first arrived in Israel, he was struggling to find work and felt deeply discouraged. One of our team members offered to pray for him. “I had never prayed like that before,” Viktor admitted. “At first, I didn’t know what to say. But by the end, I found myself saying, ‘Amen.’” Today, Viktor not only has steady work, but also serves every week by packing food parcels for struggling families.
Then there’s Marina, who remembers walking into our aid center for the first time, simply looking for clothes for her children. “You didn’t just give me clothes,” she said. “You gave me dignity.” Today, Marina helps sort and prepare clothing donations for others in need.
Serving Those Who Serve
On this special Shabbat, we reversed the roles. Instead of them serving others, we served them. Our team set a beautiful table and prepared a hearty meal. We shared stories, prayed together, and simply enjoyed one another’s company. It wasn’t just food on the table—it was fellowship, care, and the building of trust.
We saw firsthand how kindness multiplies. The people who once came broken now stand strong, giving their time and hearts to others. This is the heartbeat of our work: meeting needs, yes—but even more, creating a community where generosity is contagious.
Why It Matters
Friends like you make this possible. Every food parcel, every coat, every shared meal is a seed planted. These seeds grow into stories like Olga’s, Viktor’s, and Marina’s—stories of restored hope, new beginnings, and hearts learning to give.
And just like the volunteers we served that day, the impact doesn’t end with them. It continues outward, touching lives you may never meet, echoing far beyond what we can see.
Thank you for being part of this ripple effect of kindness in the Land of Israel. Together, we are building something that lasts.
