A Father to the Fatherless: Our Widows and Orphans Project

He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.

Deuteronomy 10:18

God speaks so much about widows and orphans in the Bible, that we cannot help but see His heart is hurting for them. He highlights the cause of widows and orphans as the most vulnerable because they are “fatherless”.

The Lord has commanded time and time again to look after the most vulnerable so that the “fatherless” know they have a Father and so that the widows know they are not alone.

It is the essence of His protective heart of a Father: to take care, to shield, defend and provide for those who were left unprotected.

Coming face to face with so many widows, especially young ones, who are raising small children that because “fatherless”, we have seen the urgent need to start a project specifically for them.

During these uncertain times when the effects of the Covid crisis are so deeply devastating among the most vulnerable, we as believers are called to show that Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.James 1:27

We cannot turn away from genuine need when we are facing it in such troubling times. It would go against God’s very nature that calls to care for widows and orphans in their distress.

Our “Father’s Heart” project geared towards widows and orphans is built around the help and relief we can provide them with; whether it’s care packages for the kids, food supplies, clothes, furniture, or even something as simple as yogurts that we take for granted, and is actually a huge treat for these kids. It just shows there are no small gifts, and no help goes unnoticed or unthanked.

See their faces… hear their words… These are the ones you are holding in your prayers, and the ones your generous gifts help support and feed during these stressful times.

Your generosity truly helps reflect our Father’s Heart to those in need.
