Bringing Christmas back to Israel – Restore the Israeli roots of Christmas

When we speak about Christmas, we refer to the nativity of Christ — the birth that changed the course of history and split it into a before and after. It is also the reason millions around the world are celebrating together the most important time of the year; the birth of our Messiah who gave us life, light, and salvation.

It would be difficult for you to imagine your hometown during this festive season without a single decoration, ornament, or mention of Christmas. My hometown of Ashdod is a perfect example of that. No decorations, no mention of Christmas.

In Israel Christmas is still quite a foreign concept, and isn’t celebrated at all.

Can you imagine? The Land that gave the world a Savior… doesn’t celebrate His birth at all. To most Israelis, Christmas is just an international holiday that has to do with Christmas trees and buying presents. When the true meaning of Christmas couldn’t be farther from that!

Living in a digital era of social media and Netflix does come with its advantages because more and more Israelis have been exposed to Christmas and it has awakened something dormant in them, an interest, a desire to know more about why so many people celebrate Christmas so passionately and wholeheartedly. They are drawn to Christmas celebrations now more than ever before, and with Beit Hall currently being the only place in the entire city of Ashdod that is organizing a Christmas celebration, no wonder so many people are excited and ready to be there for our Christmas party, where we have a chance to also explain what the Christian world is celebrating, and why it is in actual fact a Jewish celebration more than anything.

How could Yeshua become foreign to His own? Could there be anything more Israeli than a Jewish messiah who was born in this very land, not far from where we live? This while most Israelis don’t even know Yeshua was born right here.

As believers and followers of Yeshua, it’s a personal calling to bring the true meaning of Christmas back to the Land.

We are gearing up towards blessing countless Israeli families and children this Christmas with wonderful gifts while sharing with them the truth of their Jewish Messiah

When you give and take part in this special Christmas aimed at blessing Israelis with the knowledge of Yeshua, you’re releasing joy and prophetic fulfillment of His birth.
