Did you know that the Bible says you are part of a royal priesthood?
That might sound surprising.
When we read the Torah portion Tetzaveh this week (Exodus 27:20–30:10), we see God appoint Aaron and his sons as priests to serve before Him. Their garments were crafted with beauty and precision — Scripture says they were made “for glory and for beauty.”
The priests tended the lamps of the Tabernacle and offered incense that rose continually before God.
But this priestly calling was never meant to remain limited to a few.
From the beginning, God’s desire was to raise up a people who would reflect His presence in the world — a kingdom of priests.
Through Yeshua our Messiah, that calling has now been opened to all who follow Him.
Today, our prayers rise before God like incense.
Our lives become lamps that shine in the darkness.
Every act of faithfulness…
every moment of compassion…
every prayer lifted to heaven…
reflects His glory.
As the Apostle Peter reminds us:
“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
— 1 Peter 2:9
What an incredible calling.
Not just to believe in God —
but to serve Him, reflect His presence, and shine His light in the world.
