Celebrating 55 years of the Reunification of Jerusalem

This year we are celebrating and commemorating several milestones in the history of the nation of Israel, as well as God’s eternal and undivided capital – Jerusalem.

Here are a few:

  • 105 years since the 1917 Balfour Declaration.
  • 105 years since Beersheva was captured from the Turks in World War I. (Small, but strategic battle in 1917, turned the tide of WWI, led to the defeat of the Ottoman Empire, to the brief rule of the British Mandate, and paved the way for establishing the state of Israel.)
  • 75 years since the UN Partition Plan on November 29, 1947, which led to the birth of the modern state of Israel six months later in 1948.
  • 55 years since the Six Day War in 1967, when Jerusalem was reunited.
  • Such significant moments that changed the course of this nation’s history forever and paved the way for the fulfillment of so many biblical prophecies, many of which indicate that the destiny of the nations is tied to Jerusalem. Which is also why God commanded the nations to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.

Psalm 122:6-7
