It’s that time of year again, when we are approaching special days in the Bible — prophetic times and seasons appointed by God.
What is commonly known as Rosh Hashana, is the biblical Feast of Trumpets with its rich biblical culture and prophetic message behind it.
During the days prior to the Feast of Trumpets, the Hebrew month of Elul is dedicated to preparations for the high holy days ahead. Part of it is the blowing of the shofar, which is done in preparation for Rosh Hashanah, to open people’s hearts through the sound of the trumpet (shofar).
“On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets.”
Numbers 29:1
“The LORD said to Moses, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.”
Leviticus 23:23
God has given clear instructions regarding the first day of the seventh month in the Hebrew calendar. This day will be the day to sound the trumpets and assemble a sacred convocation, where the entire house of Israel stands before the Lord prepared while the trumpets sound in the annunciation.
A memorial of blowing of trumpets is meant to not only sound the trumpets but to remember God’s works, glory and miracles and honor what God has done for you.
First, the sound of the Trumpets reminds us of God’s greatness and goodness, everything He has done for us when He delivered us from many things in the past.
When you come before the Lord, the Bible teaches us that before we utter anything else in prayer, remember the goodness of the Lord first, acknowledge everything He has done, and keep it in memory, do not forget it.
It is a way to remind ourselves of everything God had done for us, our ancestors, that He has been faithful forever. What He has done for our forefathers, He will also do for us.
The second message is to celebrate TODAY, — to wait upon the Lord today, to expect His Spirit, victory and joy today. He is always moving and working wonders around us and in our lives.
The third message is to be ready for what is going to come!
The glory of God will come, His promises will be fulfilled for you, your family and your loved ones, even for your nation. Every single prophetic word of the Bible will come to pass, and that is what we are celebrating — our prophetic future.
In this case, the Feast of Trumpets is directly connected to the return of our Lord Jesus, so we are celebrating the glorious future ahead; the glory of our Lord Yeshua that every eye will see.
