Father’s Heart
Widow, Widowers and Orphans Relief Project

He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.

Deuteronomy 10:18

God speaks so much about widows and orphans in the Bible, that we cannot help but see His heart is hurting for them. He highlights the cause of widows and orphans as the most vulnerable because they are “fatherless”.

The Lord has commanded time and time again to look after the most vulnerable so that the “fatherless” know they have a Father so that the widows know they are not alone.

It is the essence of His protective heart of a Father: to take care, shield, defend and provide for those who were left unprotected.

Coming face to face with so many widows, especially young ones, some of whom are raising small children fatherless, we have seen the urgent need to start a project specifically for them.

During these uncertain times when the effects of the Covid crisis are so deeply devastating among the most vulnerable, we as believers are called to show that “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” — James 1:27

We cannot turn away from genuine need when we are facing it in such troubling times. It would go against God’s very nature that calls to care for widows and orphans in their distress.

Igor’s Journey

Father’s Heart - Widow, Widowers and Orphans Relief Project

When we speak of orphans, it is not always fatherless orphans, some are motherless. Like in the case of our Family ministry pastor, Igor, who recently lost his beloved wife Naomi to cancer after a fierce battle. She fought so hard, for so long, but her race was completed, she kept her faith until the end, and went to be with our beloved Lord.

Her husband Igor was absolutely devastated, having suffered a similar tragedy when he tragically lost his first wife in a horrific car crash. Naomi was God’s gift to him as Igor was raising his family alone, a grieving widower of motherless children. She became a mother to Igor’s children, as well as giving birth to two children of their own and expanding their family.

Naomi’s loss was absolutely devastating for Igor and their children, and he has been seeking God’s comfort during these trying times.

As he is left with two small children to raise, as well as a young daughter who is still in the army and under his care, Igor has to find a way to carry on and support his family.

He is currently in the process of downsizing, finding means to provide for his family and moving to a smaller apartment with his kids. We want to help and support him in this trying season of his life.

Caring for widows and orphans cannot exclude widowed fathers and motherless orphans, such as Igor’s children.

As we will be doing our best to support Igor’s family right now, we urge you to join us and bless him during a season when he needs God’s loving hand the most.

Father’s Heart Relief Project

Our “Father’s Heart” project geared towards widows and orphans is built around the help and relief we can provide them with; whether it’s care packages for the kids, food supplies, clothes, furniture, or even something as simple as yoghurts that we take for granted, and is actually a huge treat for these kids. It just shows there are no small gifts, and no help goes unnoticed or unthanked.

See their faces… hear their words… These are the ones you are holding in your prayers, and the ones your generous gifts help support and feed during these stressful times.

Your generosity truly helps reflect our Father’s Heart for those in need.
