First Time to School in Israel

Currently, Israeli children are enjoying their summer vacation, while their parents are scrambling to find ways to keep them entertained and organize activities to keep them occupied, all while working full time and additionally having to think about the upcoming (heavy) expense, which is school supplies for the upcoming school year this September 1st.

This year, with so many families making Aliyah and arriving in Israel from war-stricken Ukraine, we saw a tremendous need among these families who are struggling to make ends meet, and for whom buying school supplies and textbooks for their kids is an expense they simply cannot afford.

Our Back to School Project is also a First Time to School Project for so many families that have recently arrived in the Land and their kids will be starting their school year in Israel for the first time.

Our goal this year is to help hundreds of children between the ages of 6-12 with school backpacks, supplies, and textbooks.

A new school year is supposed to be an exciting time for kids to embark on a journey filled with new adventures, learning and creating friendships, but for many of these kids, a new school in a new country can be an intimidating and frightening prospect. Especially since many of the kids will be starting a new school year in an Israeli school for the first time in their lives. Just imagine: not knowing the language, being in a different country away from the only home you ever knew, experiencing tremendous lack while witnessing your parents struggling every day.

This is our way of helping these families and these children as they take their first steps in Israel.

Give today and help us send children of newly immigrated Jewish families to school well equipped.
