Galilee — When a place of darkness produces the greatest light

“Galilee of the Gentiles—the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

Matthew 4:16-17

Yeshua quoted these words from the book of Isaiah, that prophesied about Yeshua himself and what He was going to do.

In Yeshua’s day, the Galilee region was known as The Galilee of Gentiles, and it was looked down upon by many Jews, who considered it to be non-spiritual, that nothing good could come out of this area.

This is why God Himself chose this very region to be the place of His dwelling, His ministry hub, His center of miracles. He changed the destiny of Galilee through His work and acts.

Out of Galilee, Yeshua would go up to Jerusalem for the biblical feasts, but He would always return to Galilee — His home.

I want to encourage you; even if you don’t live in the biggest, most important cities, it doesn’t matter what people say about you or the area you come from or live in — when you have God in your life and Holy Spirit in your heart, He can use you to change your area, your community, and even the world.

The very same Galilee that was once despised and looked down upon by the inhabitants of this Land, Yeshua chose 12 apostles from this very area and sent them to the ends of the earth. They went and changed the world.

I pray you will carry the same anointing on your life: to go and change the world, to be His light in the darkness.
