From the heart of Jerusalem, I want to wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Thanksgiving. Even though this holiday is not part of Israel’s traditional calendar, its message is deeply, beautifully biblical.
Again and again the Scriptures say:
“Hodu la’Adonai ki tov — Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, and His mercy endures forever.”
Psalm 136:1
Our entire Bible is filled with verses calling God’s people to remember His goodness, to give thanks, and to acknowledge His mercy — not only when life is easy, but especially when times are difficult.
As I stand here in Jerusalem, I find myself thinking of you today. I can almost picture you gathering around the table — sending messages to friends and family, meeting with loved ones, sharing meals, laughing, praying, and thanking God for His faithfulness. What a blessing to pause, even for a moment, and intentionally focus on the good things God has poured into our lives.
And friends, I know this year has held many challenges. Around the world we see so much negativity, criticism, conflict, and pain. Rumors of war, real war, uncertainty, struggles… this world is far from perfect. But even in the midst of darkness, God has not stopped moving. He is still doing miracles. He is still showing mercy. He is still pouring out blessing after blessing.
We always — always — have reasons to thank Him.
So today, let us lift our eyes together. From your home, your family, your community — and from here in Jerusalem — let us join our hearts in gratitude to our Creator, our Lord, our Redeemer: Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ.
May His joy fill your home.
May His peace guard your heart.
May His presence surround your table.
And may you be reminded again that God is good, His love never fails, and His faithfulness endures forever.
