Huge “Tornadic” Waterspout off the Coast of Ashdod

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Psalm 19:1

A few days ago we were stunned to witness a unique natural phenomenon here in Israel when a huge tornadic waterspout arose from the waters of the nearby Mediterranean Sea.

A waterspout is a kind of liquid tornado that forms over water, descending from a cumulus cloud to an ocean or lake. It is very similar to a land tornado and becomes dangerous once it hits land.

Seldom does Israel experience extreme types of weather or natural phenomenons, which is why this tornadic waterspout was so unique and amazing to watch right outside our balcony.

In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
