As this war continues, much of daily life in Israel has moved underground.
Across the country, families are spending long hours in bomb shelters as sirens sound and alerts interrupt the day and night. What were meant to be temporary refuge spaces have now become living rooms, bedrooms, and places where families try to hold on to some sense of normal life while uncertainty surrounds them.
In moments like these, we hold tightly to the promise of Psalm 121: “He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” Even when nights are restless and the future feels unclear, we trust that the Lord remains watchful and faithful.
While many people remain close to shelters, our team continues moving quietly throughout the city to help those who need support the most.
Some elderly residents and vulnerable families cannot easily come to us. They must stay near their homes or simply do not have transportation. Our team visits them directly, bringing food, water, and essential supplies so they are not left alone during these difficult days.
At the same time, many families are coming to us for help. We are providing groceries and practical items to help people manage daily life during the war.
One of the most urgent needs right now is something very simple but extremely important — mattresses. Because of the constant alerts, many families are spending long stretches of time inside bomb shelters. Nights are often interrupted, and people must remain underground for extended periods. In these conditions, having even a simple mattress to rest on can make an enormous difference.
In times of war, it is often the smallest things that bring the greatest comfort: a warm meal, a place to rest, or simply knowing that someone remembers you and cares.
We are deeply grateful for you — our friends and partners — who continue standing with us during these days. Your prayers strengthen our team, and your generosity allows us to keep serving people who need both practical help and encouragement right now.
We continue to pray and believe that this war will end soon and that peace will return to this land.
How You Can Help Right Now
If you would like to stand with us in helping families during this difficult time, there are simple ways you can make a real difference:
- $60 sponsors one mattress for a family or elderly person sleeping in bomb shelters.
- Any gift toward the $35,000 annual shelter rent and utilities helps keep this refuge open and ready for those who need it.
Your partnership allows us to bring comfort, practical care, and the love of Yeshua to people facing the realities of war.
Thank you for your prayers, your support, and for standing with us here in Israel — especially in these days.
In gratitude and love,
Pastor Israel Pochtar
