Israel is a land where the Bible isn’t just a book—it’s a living, breathing reality. Every valley, every mountain, every stone tells a story of faith, miracles, and divine encounters. Few places embody this truth as powerfully as Mount Tabor, also known as the Mount of Transfiguration—a sacred site where heaven touched earth and the glory of God was revealed in His Son, Jesus.
Standing at the base of Mount Tabor, you can’t help but marvel at its beauty. Rising majestically from the Jezreel Valley, its distinctive dome-like shape has made it a landmark for millennia. But the real wonder of this mountain isn’t just its striking appearance—it’s the miraculous event that took place here, one that forever confirmed Jesus’ divine identity.
The climb up Mount Tabor is steep and challenging, a journey that gives us a glimpse into the physical endurance of Jesus and His disciples. Throughout His ministry, Jesus often withdrew to mountains to pray, to seek the Father, and to prepare for what lay ahead. But on this particular occasion, something extraordinary happened—something that would strengthen the faith of His closest disciples and reveal the true nature of the Messiah.
On this mountain, Jesus revealed His divine glory.
Peter, James, and John stood in awe as His face shone like the sun and His clothes became dazzling white. Then, as if this heavenly moment weren’t astounding enough, Moses and Elijah appeared, speaking with Him. It was a powerful confirmation that Jesus is the fulfillment of both the Law and the Prophets—the culmination of God’s redemptive plan for humanity.
Overwhelmed by the magnitude of the moment, Peter, in his zeal, wanted to build shelters for them all, desiring to preserve this holy encounter. But then came the voice of the Almighty:
This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!
