1 Kings 9:1 — “When Solomon had finished building the temple of the LORD and the royal palace, and had achieved all he had desired to do, the LORD appeared to him a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.”
We all experience our encounters with God at one time or another, because we believe in Jesus. In King Solomon’s case these encounters were very special.
1 Kings 9:3-5 — “The LORD said to him: “I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
As for you, if you walk before me faithfully with integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’”
When Solomon was a young man, inexperienced and vulnerable, he came to God and pleaded for wisdom and guidance, God honored that prayer, and in time He reminded Solomon that his prayer was remembered, honored and answered.
The Lord showed Solomon all he accomplished in the time he was king, all he built, attained and conquered, and God was reminding him that it was all because the Lord had answered his prayers and will continue to always honor him, as long as Solomon continues to walk before God in integrity, faithfulness and uprightly.
Even today God is speaking into our lives with the same message. When we take little moments of reflection and allow God’s voice to echo in our hearts: “Look how far I’ve taken you. Remember you prayed about this? I honored that.”
In those moments when we lift up our eyes to the Lord, we can recognize the path we’ve walked on and how He was there helping us every step of the way, listening and honoring our pleas.
Those special moments of encounter with the Lord remind us of how far we’ve come thanks to Him, but also they come to remind us to keep walking with integrity, upholding His word and keeping our hearts upright while listening to His voice.
That is my prayer today for you:
May God continues to bless you, as you continue to walk with integrity and faithfulness, seeking to serve Him above everything else, so you may see His blessing over your life forever.
After that life changing encounter with God, the Bible says Solomon went on to accomplish more amazing projects, raising funds from taxes in order to continue expanding the kingdom God entrusted him with by raising up and building cities such as Gezer, Hatzor and Megiddo, among others.
That is what happens when you are truly blessed by God; you build and expand on the blessings He gave you. You build a legacy that will live on through history, because its foundation is the Lord and your desire to honor Him.
May the Lord continue putting His vision, desires and dreams in your heart, so that you will be able to accomplish everything He places on your heart.
He did it with King Solomon, and his legacy remains, because 3000 years later we are still standing on the very same stones Solomon laid when building these cities in Israel. That is a lasting legacy.
I also pray that you will be faithful with whatever God places in your heart, so that His blessings are over your life and you see the fulfillment of His promises in all your accomplishments, because Yeshua is with YOU.
