As we enter into the joyous celebration of Purim, our hearts are filled with gratitude and awe at God’s faithfulness.
Purim is not just another holiday—it is a divine reminder that even in our darkest moments, when the enemy rises against us, God is already preparing the victory! The story of Purim, found in the Book of Esther, is a powerful testimony that no matter how overwhelming the battle seems, God always has a plan for redemption and triumph.
Purim in Israel is unlike anything else.
While those outside of Israel may not feel its full impact unless deeply connected to the Jewish community, here in the Land the atmosphere is electric with joy! Schools and workplaces close, the streets overflow with music, dancing, and vibrant celebrations. Families come together to fulfill the beautiful biblical commandment of giving gifts, rejoicing, and lifting their voices in praise to the Lord.
At Beit Hallel, we are honored to extend these blessings to those in need—especially new immigrants who have only just begun their journey of returning to Israel. Through food packages, special gifts, and acts of kindness, we are privileged to be the hands and feet of Yeshua, bringing hope and joy to those who need it most.
The name Purim comes from the Hebrew word “pur,” meaning “lot.” It refers to the lots cast by Haman, the wicked enemy of the Jewish people, who sought their total destruction. But praise God—our story never ends with destruction! When the people of Israel cried out in prayer and fasting, the Almighty raised up Esther and Mordecai to stand in the gap. What the enemy meant for evil, God turned for good! The gallows prepared for the Jewish people became the very place of Haman’s downfall. This is the God we serve—a God who fights for His people, who turns mourning into dancing, and who transforms despair into victory!
This year, Purim carries an even deeper meaning.
Once again, Israel stands in the face of enemies who seek its destruction. The spirit of Haman is still at work in the world, but so is the Spirit of the Living God! Just as He did in ancient times, He is raising up modern-day Esthers and Mordecais—both within the Jewish people and among our Christian brothers and sisters—to stand boldly in prayer, intercession, and action. Now, more than ever, we must take our place on the walls of intercession, lifting up Israel and declaring God’s promises over this nation. The battle may rage, but we know who holds the victory!
Purim is more than a historical remembrance—it is a prophetic declaration!
The same God who saved Israel in the days of Esther is moving mightily today. The schemes of the enemy will not prevail, for God is still fighting for His people, still bringing salvation, and still fulfilling His promises.
So let us celebrate with unshakable faith and overwhelming joy! Let us dance, let us sing, let us proclaim the goodness of the Lord! May this Purim be a time of renewal, bold faith, and unwavering commitment to standing with Israel in the days ahead.
