The month Elul marks the end of the Jewish year according to the Hebrew calendar, making it a very significant month of preparation.
We set out in preparations for the new year ahead which starts with Rosh Hashanah — the Feast of Trumpets.
The entire house of Israel starts their spiritual preparations for the holiest month of High Holy days ahead, including the Day of Atonement, which is the day when a nation’s fate is sealed in the Book of Life.
There’s a sense of expectation ahead of the Lord’s feasts. As believers, we have faith in God’s power, blessings, and joy, and when His people expect miraculous things from God, He comes through in a great way.

The Lord has given us His feasts as a way of speaking through them into our lives.
He called the feasts: “My appointed days”.
They are not Israel’s feasts or the Jewish feasts. According to the Bible these are the Lord’s Feasts.
God created the earth and humanity, then He created His appointed feasts for us to celebrate His prophetic messages and the goodness of the Lord in the midst of life’s storms.
For the beginning of the month of Elul the Torah reading portion is Numbers 28:1-15, which speaks about sacrifice, specifically the monthly new moon (month) sacrifice.
These new moon sacrifices have been established since the days of Moses, and they are very important.
We can see it in our own lives, as we take time to dedicate to the Lord the very first of everything, in this case, the first day of the month, praying and proclaiming His glory, amazing things happen, because God is honored by our sacrifice.
