Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

We are called to be watchful and pray, to have spiritual discernment and understand what is happening around us.
The enemy is on the prowl and is seeking to attack your life. However, God is also working in our lives at the same time, which is why it’s so important for us to watch and pray, so we can discern.
Jesus was teaching about a man who left his country for a time and his servants were in charge of his house. They had to make sure it wasn’t attacked by the enemy in the master’s absence. That’s why he emphasized the important of being watchful and praying until His return.
We have no knowledge of what will happen, how or when. We don’t know what we will need to go through or endure, which is why it’s so crucial to remain watchful and praying.
When we watch and pray, the One who watches over us will prepare us for what is to come, and when the enemy attacks, we will be able to discern that at once.
It is like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
Mark 13:34
God granted us the anointing to fulfill the calling He gave us, but we have to watch and pray so we are spiritually prepared for what is to come, for we do not know when the time is.
Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.
Mark 13:35
Four different possible seasons or times of day are mentioned here. It can be dawn, morning, evening or midnight.
What will determine your readiness for any of these different times is your watchfulness and prayers. That is what will prepare you for any season.
Even now, make sure you are diligent to watch and pray, so you are able to discern when God moves, you will move with Him. If He indicates you need to recognize and stop the enemy, you will stop the enemy. Simply watch and pray.
…If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
Mark 13:36
Sleeping is the opposite of watchfulness and awareness. If you don’t watch, you fall asleep.
God is basically telling us to wake up and keep watch, raising our voices in prayer.
When you recognize the enemy’s attacks, pray against its proclaim God’s promises, His authority and Kingdom over the situation.
What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’
Mark 13:37
Jesus is telling YOU the same thing he told every single believer before you throughout generations: “WATCH!”
If we keep watch and pray, we will see the victory of God in our generation, the return of our Lord and Master. We will also see the enemy’s deeds exposed and stopped.
