Thanksgiving
An Attitude of Gratitude

When darkness surrounds you, the way out is through gratitude.  Thankfulness regardless of the circumstances is what sets you apart from the rest. 

Focusing on God’s blessings in our life, the good things that stir up gratitude in our hearts is what guides us through the dark seasons we are in. 

Thanksgiving is not a concept introduced by man, but by God. 

Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High.

Psalm 50:14

The Bible is filled with scriptures that speak of the importance of thanksgiving and the power it has to change our lives, as well as the lives of those around us.

Having a thankful heart, even amid trials, enables us to see God’s deliverance in any situation; It is acknowledging that the Lord is above all and anything that troubles us.  

With so many clear examples of the power of thanksgiving in the Bible, it’s easy to see why the path to blessings and answered prayers is through gratitude.  

God also speaks about thanksgiving as a sacrifice, a love offering to the Lord. 

You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

2 Corinthians 9:11-22 

When gratitude is what fuels your generosity towards others, it becomes contagious. Thanksgiving is produced in those you help while driven by your own grateful heart for the Lord’s blessings. 

Acting out of gratitude, ensuring that whatever you do, you do it …

without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.

Philippians 2:14-16

This Thanksgiving season, we are thankful for YOU! For your unwavering and steadfast stand with us in this great time of need. While the world is covered in darkness, you have been shining like stars in the darkness, carrying the light of Christ. 

May you always abound in reasons to give thanks to the Lord!
