The Many Manifestations of God’s Goodness –
A Devotional with Pastor Israel Pochtar

This week, I’ve been spending some time in Psalm 31, and I just have to share something amazing I noticed. When we read God’s Word in both Hebrew and English, it comes alive in a whole new way. Hebrew words carry so much depth and emotion—sometimes even more than what we see in the English translation. Taking a moment to look at both languages can really open our hearts and help us see God’s goodness more clearly.

Verse 20 says:

“Oh, how great is Your goodness!”

Psalm 31:20

But in Hebrew, the word isn’t just “great.” It also means “many”—countless blessings, overflowing goodness, one after another. Think about that for a moment. God’s goodness isn’t just a one-time miracle or a single act of kindness. It’s abundant, overflowing, and perfectly made for every situation in our lives.

The psalm continues:

“Which You have laid up for those who fear You… which You have prepared for those who trust in You, in the presence of the sons of men.”

Psalm 31:19–20

Here’s the big takeaway: trust matters. When we put our trust in God, we open ourselves to all the treasures of His goodness that He’s already prepared for us. They’re not hidden or out of reach—they’re ready, waiting, and meant to flow into our lives, our families, and our ministries.

And notice something else—this happens in front of people. God’s goodness isn’t just a private thing. When we live by faith, when we share His kindness, when we tell others about His faithfulness—they see it too. Our lives become a living testimony that God is good. And His goodness? Not just great—it’s many, overflowing, touching every part of our lives.

Verse 24 brings a simple, powerful call:

“O love the LORD, all you His saints!”

Isn’t that beautiful? We love Him because He first loved us, and we see the fullness of His love through Yeshua, our Messiah. When we keep trusting Him and keep loving Him, His goodness will keep flowing—refreshing us, filling us, and changing everything around us.

So today, hold on to this promise: God’s goodness is huge. His blessings are more than we can count. His love never ends. Trust Him. Love Him. And watch how His goodness shows up in your life in ways you never imagined.

Prayer:

Lord, help us see all the ways Your goodness touches our lives. Teach us to trust You more, to speak boldly about Your faithfulness, and to love You with all our hearts.

Let Your goodness overflow into our families, our communities, and every place You’ve called us.
