What does it mean to leave everything behind and make Aliyah? While many are familiar with relocation as part of one’s professional path, or a personal choice to seek better opportunities, when it comes to Israel things change dramatically. When a Jewish person in the diaspora decides to move to Israel, it is called Aliyah (Ascension) or Return. The reason is biblical. God promised the day will come when He will restore His nation and bring his people back to their ancient homeland.
I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the LORD your God.”

What does it mean for a Jewish person to RETURN to Israel?
Knowing it might not be the best country in the world, that the struggles and challenges you’re about to face are overwhelming, but the deep conviction that you need to be HERE, that there’s no other place for you out there, that even after two thousand years your roots are still here – that is the driving force behind Aliyah, the return of the Jewish people to Israel.
How then can we, as believers in Jesus, be a part of something so deeply meaningful? Can it be that our help and kindness is actually fulfilling God’s prophecies?
