War in Israel: Day 6
Update from Pastor Israel

As the war with Hamas rages on, more and more information is surfacing about the terrible ordeal dealt to the nation of Israel by the terrorists of Hamas from Gaza. More than 1,300 Israelis have been killed, and more than 2,200 are injured. At least 150 Israelis are currently being held captive in secret locations around Gaza. Despite this heartbreaking situation, the people of Israel have united as one family, to support and uphold one another, while our soldiers are putting their lives on the line for justice and the nation of Israel’s survival.

It is during this time that we are also discovering just how many Israeli families and soldiers are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. Many families are hunkering down in bunkers, or staying behind closed doors because of the missile barrages and near constant sirens in the south. They dare not leave the house to venture out and do shopping. We also see that many of the reserve soldiers who were called up—who total around 360,000—had to mobilize with haste and now find themselves in need of many basic things, such as toiletries, socks, snacks, energy drinks, water, thermal underwear, joint and muscle pain relief rubs, etc.

Thus, we as Beit Hallel have mobilized to do as much as we can, for as many families and soldiers as possible. Every day our four Humanitarian Action Teams head out in our vans to deliver food baskets to families in need, as well as care hampers to soldiers on the bases in the south of Israel. It requires a tremendous amount of time to prepare for these distribution runs, but our staff and our big team of volunteers do it gladly, as unto the Lord. We know that we aren’t just providing practical aid, but we are also shining the love of the Lord as we serve our nation in His name. We love our nation dearly, but nothing can compare to the Love that Adonai has for the nation of Israel.

For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you – for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye”

Zechariah 2:8
