Parashat Va’era (Exodus 6:2 – 9:35)
Theme: Knowing God — The Redeemer Who Reveals Himself

1. God Reveals His Name (Ex. 6:2–8)
God tells Moses He will now be known by His covenant Name — YHVH — through action, not memory. Israel will know Him as Deliverer.
Hebrew Insight: Go’el (גֹּאֵל — redeemer) shows God as the One who rescues His family line.
Messianic Connection: Yeshua becomes our go’el through His death and resurrection.
Application: Faith deepens when God becomes personal — not just believed in, but experienced.

2. Moses & Aaron Before Pharaoh (Ex. 6:9–7:7; 7:8–13)
Pharaoh mocks God’s signs; his heart is unmoved. Israel struggles to believe after long disappointment.
Hebrew Key Word: Emunah (אֱמוּנָה — faith, trust).
Application: Hope often fails before it flourishes. God works even when hearts resist.

3. Signs and Wonders (Ex. 7:14 – 9:12)
The plagues strike Egypt’s gods — water, creatures, land, and life itself — revealing God’s supremacy.
Hebrew Key Words: Otot u’Mofetim (אֹתוֹת וּמֹפְתִים — signs and wonders).
Messianic Connection: Yeshua’s miracles, like Moses’, were signs pointing to redemption.
Application: God’s judgments warn, shake, and awaken those who resist Him — His justice is mercy in disguise.

4. Distinction Between Egypt and Israel (Ex. 8:18–9:35)
God sets His people apart, shielding them from plagues and proving His covenant faithfulness.
Application: Holiness means God-marked identity — protection, purpose, and calling to stand apart from the world.
