Over 17 years ago, as I was driving from Jaffa to a Bible study I was teaching in Ashdod, God stopped me in my tracks and showed me the vision that would redefine my journey and become the driving force behind everything we have done in the past nearly two decades.
Beit Hallel was born out of God’s love for His people in the Ashdod area, seeing the great spiritual need, without a single Hebrew-speaking congregation in a city so densely populated, the Lord showed me a small glimpse of what He was preparing, and never could I have imagined it would be so much bigger than what I had initially thought it would be.
Last Friday Beit Hallel celebrated the first 17 years of an incredible, Jesus-filled journey, letting our Lord lead the way and pave the path.
Salvations, healings, miracles, deliverances, along with challenges, obstacles, and opposition, followed by victories and breakthroughs — Even the harshest and most challenging times we have faced over the years pale in comparison to the greatness of God, the power of the Holy Spirit manifested daily in our lives, families ministry, congregation, outreaches, and projects.
Beit Hallel has always been about people. Our work was always focused and geared towards our community, on reaching the lost, helping those in need; showing God’s love in action.
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.
1 Timothy 1:12
The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 1:14
We’re grateful for your love, support, and prayers, for your kind and encouraging words, and for being our sojourners, friends, and allies. Your heart for Israel and support of this nation through our work have been truly invaluable.
There’s so much more to come. Our only goal is to be faithful in the tasks at hand.
Beit Hallel is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Ashdod, led by pastor Israel Pochtar, serving holocaust survivors and the poor and needy locally and throughout the nation of Israel, while building up the body of Messiah in the promised land of Israel.
