As I was standing in the middle of the Judean desert, I realized there’s nothing really barren about the desert. There are water springs in the midst of the wilderness.
The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose.
Isaiah 35:1
Standing in the middle of the Judean desert you can see the fulfillment of this prophecy clearly.
Abundant vegetation, flowers, water springs — a pulsating life.
Where there’s water, there’s life.
What we see in the desert is a prophetic scenery, it is a physical portrayal of a spiritual fulfillment of this prophecy.
Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.
Isaiah 35:6
What an amazing time we get to live in! To stand in the midst of biblical prophecy being fulfilled.
Prayer:
Dear Father, pour out Your fresh living waters into our lives, so that where there was once death, desolation and hopelessness, Your water will provide restoration, blessing and life. May you turn the desert in our lives into a blossoming garden filled with your life-giving water.
