Vika’s Story —

Vika's Story — Connection and Hope in the Heart of Jerusalem

When new immigrants arrive in Israel, they often bring with them far more than what fits into their suitcases. They carry the weight of uncertainty, the ache of loss, and a deep longing to belong. Many come with nothing — no family, no friends, and no clear path forward. But this is where the light of Yeshua shines most brightly — through real connection, simple kindness, and love in action.

Recently, in the heart of Jerusalem at our weekly meetings, our follow-up team met Vika, a woman who had fled the war-torn city of Kharkiv in Ukraine. Her story was marked by pain and struggle. Having lost her home, she found herself in a foreign land with no one to turn to and nowhere to stay. As she shared her heart through tears, one of our team members, Sveta, gently took her hand and began to pray. In that quiet moment, the presence of God filled the room — and something beautiful began to unfold.

Vika stayed to talk a little longer. Around a small table, surrounded by warmth and listening hearts, she heard about the hope found in Yeshua. With deep sincerity, she bowed her head and prayed the prayer of repentance — opening her heart to the Lord for the very first time. That day, Vika walked away holding a Bible and a newfound peace that radiated from within.

This is what the Gospel looks like — one encounter, one conversation, one prayer at a time. Every story matters. Every person is seen. And every life touched by God becomes a testimony of His mercy.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 34:18

Our mission is not a sprint but a lifelong journey of compassion — a daily walk of faith where we meet people right where they are. Through small acts of love, shared meals, listening ears, and the power of genuine relationship, we become His hands and feet — bringing light into the darkest places.

Every time someone like Vika finds hope, we are reminded why we do what we do. Because when one life is transformed, heaven rejoices — and history quietly changes, one heart at a time.

Join Us in Prayer

Please join us in praying for Vika, and for many others like her who have lost everything yet are discovering new life in Yeshua. Pray that they grow strong in their faith, find loving community, and experience the fullness of God’s love in their new home.

As we continue running this race — a marathon of mercy and grace — may we never grow weary in doing good, knowing that “in due season we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)

“At Korskyrkan, we have always prayed for Israel and Jerusalem — we even have an Israeli flag in our church. We understand that our Lord is not finished with Israel, and that many prophecies are connected to the people’s return to the land. One day, while listening to a message about Israel, I felt a […]

Strengthening the Hands That Serve:
Encouraging Our Pastoral Family in Eilat

Pastors spend much of their lives encouraging others. They pray with families, guide people through difficult seasons, teach the Scriptures, and help believers grow in their faith. Yet those who faithfully shepherd others also need moments to step away from their daily responsibilities, share their hearts, and receive encouragement themselves. Recently, Pastor Israel traveled to […]

Until All Israel Hears —
The Good News Project

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Good News of Yeshua began spreading from Jerusalem to the nations. This November, believers from those nations will come to Israel to stand alongside our Beit Hallel team, sharing that same message in the streets of the very land where it all began. There is something deeply meaningful about […]

Where He Walked, They Prayed:
200 Israelis Encounter the Gospel at Magdala

There are places in Israel where the stories of the Bible suddenly feel very close. Magdala, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, is one of them. Recently, we brought 200 Israelis to this ancient town, where Yeshua (Jesus) ministered in the surrounding region nearly 2,000 years ago. We wanted them to discover more […]

The Stones Are Ancient:
The Gospel Still Changes Lives

Some places carry a history that time cannot erase. Along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, ancient stones still bear witness to the world Yeshua walked through—the villages where He taught, the people He encountered, and the lives that were forever changed by meeting Him.  As we prepare to welcome 200 Israelis to the […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
B’yadcha (בְּיָדְךָ) —
Into Your Hand

Some things are simply beyond our control. We can pray, make wise decisions, do everything we know to do, and still reach a point where the outcome is no longer in our hands. This can be one of the hardest places for us, because we naturally want to know what is going to happen and […]
