Zhanna’s Story

Zhanna had been living in Israel for the past 1.5 years, having moved here as a new Jewish immigrant. As she acclimatized to life in Israel, she made many new friends, with one among them – Irina – being a believer in Yeshua. One day, Zhanna received a text message from Irina inviting her to join her for the Alpha course at Beit Hallel, adding “so that they might learn more of God together.”

Zhanna was not yet a believer, but it was Irina’s hope that she would experience the reality of Yeshua at the course and be born again. After having read the text message, Zhanna felt a strong urge to attend the course and informed Irina that she would be glad to join her.

When Zhanna arrived at the congregational building, she felt a sense of uncertainty and wasn’t sure where to go. However, she soon located the meeting room, which she described as a miracle, feeling that someone was guiding her steps all the way.

At the Alpha course, Zhanna was deeply moved by the videos and the fellowship she experienced. Listening to the testimonies, she couldn’t hold back her tears, feeling God’s presence and guidance in her life in Israel. She shared with the group that God had led her to them and had been helping her all along in ways that were undeniable.

During the course, Zhanna felt moved to mention to her friend Irina about her need for humanitarian aid, but also mentioned that she hadn’t yet applied to Beit Hallel for assistance, nor had she completed the necessary paperwork to receive assistance. With Irina and the Beit Hallel leadership’s assistance, she was able to fill out the necessary forms after the meeting and received a humanitarian care package on the spot.

As she left, Zhanna was filled with joy, having encountered God’s love in a profound way, spiritually through the course, and practically with humanitarian aid. She expressed her eagerness to attend the next Alpha session.

We are grateful to witness how God brings people to Himself, and we continue to pray that Zhanna’s heart remains open to receiving His word. It’s beautiful to witness here in Israel what an impact friendship and faith-based relationships have on people’s hearts and how they draw them unto God!

Hallelujah!

The Unexpected Encounter That Gave Marina Hope

The Work He Left In Our Hands —
Galilee Evangelism Campaign

Here in Israel, many people can know the names of biblical places and the stories connected with them — and still know very little about who Yeshua really is. For many of the new Jewish immigrants we meet, Israel itself is also new. They are building a life in a new country, discovering the land, […]

“Please Don’t Wait Too Long” —
Holocaust Survivors Project Report

Some of the Holocaust survivors who walked into our gathering in Ashdod already knew us. Others did not. We could see the hesitation on a few faces, and we understood it. They had been invited into a room with people they barely knew — and we were wondering how they would respond when we spoke […]

Inside the Sukkah:
Remembering the God Who Provides

One of the things I love about Sukkot is how many simple reminders of God’s faithfulness surround us during this Feast. We build the sukkah, we sit beneath its branches, we share meals together as families, and we remember something our people have needed to remember for thousands of years: everything we have ultimately comes […]

Hebrew Word of the Week:
Adonai Uzzi (יְהוָה עֻזִּי) —
The LORD Is My Strength

We all become tired sometimes, and I don’t mean only physically. There is another kind of tiredness that comes when you have been carrying something for a long time. Holocaust Survivors Praise Report

The Moroccan food was a hit. We had brought it from Ashdod for a gathering with Holocaust survivors in Jerusalem, and before long people around the tables were asking about our city.
